"Photographed in 2016 with expired film, I came across this abandoned carousel on Brighton beach - looking out across the water towards France. It was taken the very year that Trump was elected and Brexit was announced. It seemed a fitting image for the exhausted political carousel of the US and the United Kingdom; two democratic nations within a media circus, that had brought about the age of Post Truth in the minds of voters. A merry-go-round of emotional talking points and personal beliefs - disguised behind a cloak of ‘facts’ and nationalism."
